Kandy staff correspondent A building contractor remanded earlier in connection with an alleged misappropriation of paints and later released on bail by the High Court, Kandy, was directed to appear in court on April 2 by the Kandy Magistrate D.L.M. Seneviratne on Wednesday. According to Police, M.P.G. Lakshaman of Mulgampola, Kandy is alleged to have misappropriated paints worth over Rs. 115,000 belonging to Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya. He is on Rs. 2,500 cash bail with a surety. The Central Range Special Investigation Unit (SIU) conducted inquiries. The SIU had forwarded the inquiry proceedings to the Attorney General and was awaiting instructions to file plaint. |
