Sanasa Bank urged to pay NHDA Rs. 8 million

The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) has asked the Sanasa Bank to pay Rs. 8 million owed to the Authority as housing loans immediately.

Raising this point at a meeting of the Colombo District Housing Committee held recently NHDA's Senior Manager (Colombo district) S. T. Sarathchandra said the Sanasa Bank owed the Authority a sum of Rs. 8 million. This money was disbursed among people as housing loans through the Sanasa Bank. He requested the Committee to ensure that the Bank settled this money without delay.

The meeting held at the Colombo Kachcheri auditorium was presided by Colombo District Secretary Joseph Sylvester.

Sarathchandra told the meeting that the recovery of housing loans disbursed through the Sanasa Bank has been a big problem.

The District Secretary said a representative from the Sanasa Bank capable of making vital decisions should attend the meetings of the District Housing Committee.

He requested Sarathchandra to inform the Bank to do so in the future.
