by Rashomi Silva

The Water levels of CastleReigh, Victoria, Maussakelle and Kotmale reservoirs have increased significantly due to the heavy rains experienced in catchment areas during the past few weeks, a spokesperson for the Power and Energy ministry told the Daily News, yesterday.

The total storage of all reservoirs has increased to 43.6 per cent. Castlereigh's storage level alone has exceeded 93 per cent. However, the storage level of Samanalawewa still remains low at 18.7 per cent. "We are expecting more rain in the next few days," he added.
