CMI's Director General/ CEO due here
Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Management Institute - UK, Mary Chapman will arrive in Sri Lanka on a brief visit on November 11. During her stay she will meet Milinda Moragoda, Minister of Economic Reform, Science and Technology, the British High Commissioner, the Director of the British Council, Executive Committee Members of the Chartered Management Institute Sri Lanka Branch and Executive Committee and Members of the Management Club. According to CMI UK-Sri Lanka Branch President Sega Nagendra, this is the first time that the Chief Executive of the CMI will be visiting Sri Lanka. "In fact outside of the UK we are the only Branch office, all others are Chapters", Nagendra said. The holder of a BA (Hons) degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol and professional diplomas in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and in Business Management from the Centre Europeen d'Etudes Permanentes at INSEAD, she is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Chapman's early career encompassed a range of commercial experience in tourism with the British Tourist Authority and consumer goods marketing, including four years as Divisional General Manger with Nicholas Kiwi. She also spent 12 years with the L'Oreal Group and was Managing Director of Helena Rubinstein and Director of Personnel Operations and Management Development. In December 93 Chapman became the first Chief Executive of Investors in People UK (IIP) and established the IIP as the national standard for effective training and development. |
