LTTE sea movement today

by Ranga Jayasuriya

The LTTE will transport 80 cadres going home on leave by sea today from Mullaitivu to Vakarai in line with the Government-LTTE deal on sea movement, a SLMM spokesman said.

"The LTTE has informed the SLMM that it would transport 80 unarmed cadres in plain clothes by two vessels on Tuesday," SLMM Deputy Head Hagrup Haukland told the Daily News. On Friday, two vessels will return with 80 cadres returning to work from leave.

Haukland said SLMM monitors authorised to inspect the vessels and monitor the route would be on board both vessels.

The Government and the LTTE have sealed a deal permitting the LTTE to transport unarmed plainclothed cadres going home on leave and returning for duty between the LTTE held areas in the North and the East, under certain conditions.
