Tamil Union struggled to reach 86 for 5 in their first innings on the opening day of their rain curtailed Premier Championship Cricket Match against Colts CC at Havelock Park yesterday.

Rochana Wijeratne hit a solid knock of 58 and shared in a third wicket stand of 99 runs with Arul Prakash (47) as Royal scored 207 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their Elephant Lemonade Cup inter-school cricket tournament match against Thurstan played at the De Soysa Stadium yesterday.

Royal: 207 for 7 (Rochana Wijeratne 58, Arul Prakash 47, Heshan Morawaka 24, Sugeesha Dinusha 33 n.o, Asela Umayangana 2 for 38, Thilina Masmulla 2 for 24, Jivan Chamikara 2 for 72) v Thurstan.

Four games postponed

Heavy overnight rain forced a postponement of the two inter school cricket matches between Prince of Wales and Mahinda at the Cambrian Grounds and the Sebastianite vs Trinity game at Moratuwa yesterday.

In addition the inter-school fixture between Moratu MV and Siri Piyaratne MV Padukka was also postponed due to a water logged outfield at the Moratu MV Grounds. All three matches will be worked off at a latter date.

The inter school cricket tournament match between St. Joseph's and D. S. Senanayake was postponed following overnight rain at Wijerama Mawatha yesterday.
