Sliding down to an environmental disaster

Sandun Nishanthi had a shortcut to gruesome fame. The six-month-old infant was among those who were swept down in a river of mud on the night of October 5 at Belihuloya. Little Sandun's body was found many kilometres away from the disaster area by residents of Nendumgamuwa village on the banks of the Samanalawewa while being torn apart by monitor lizards.
