Veteran cagers at World Masters Games

Sri Lanka Veterans Basketball Association was formed in 1994. This year it was historic because they participated in the Asia Pacific Masters Game held in the Gold Coast, Australia and won a bronze medal for Sri Lanka.

On the strength of this victory the veterans team took part in the World Masters Games in Melbourne, Australia this year.

The squad that made it to Australia was:

Nowfel Maharoof, Karu Marasinghe, Nihal Perera, Remigius Perera, Z. A. M. Maharoof, U.C. Jayasinghe, Vincent Loganathan, Col. Vikum Siriwardena, Marlan Ranasinghe, S. P. Bernard Silva, Clifford Vandergert, Francis de Silva, Chitralal de Silva, Brig. Nimal Jayasuriya.
