President wishes FM good health

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga wished Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando who is now recovering after a surgery, good health, a press release issued by the Foreign Ministry said.

The release added: "In a letter addressed to Mr. Fernando who is still in a private hospital Colombo, the President said: "I sincerely hope that you are feeling much better today and we will find you in good health soon. I wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you up and above soon".

"Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who visited Mr. Fernando just before the operation spent more than one hour with him.

"Head of the International Cricket Development Committee of the ICC and South African Cricket Union Chief Ali Bacher was among the well wishers to the minister.
