The following players have been selected to the National Pool by the National Selection Committee, preparatory to the 14th Asian Games to be held from 29 September to 15 October 2002 in Busan, Korea.

The Council of the SLRFU has appointed C. P. Abeyagunawardena as National Coach and George Simpkin as the Technical Adviser for the current year.

The following players are to report to the National Coach on 05 August 2002 (Monday) at 5.30 p.m. at CR & FC grounds. He also kindly request the senior Club/School coaches of the players selected to the National Pool to be present at the above venue to discuss important matters with regard to training and other requirements of the players.
