by Bharatha Malawaraarachchi Members of the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) have been made beneficiaries of a new insurance cover worth Rs. two million against personal accident and critical illness. The Memorandum of Understanding in this regard was signed yesterday between the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd and the GMOA. This insurance scheme will insure doctors against personal accident covered up to Rs. one million with total and permanent disability cover up to one million rupees. GMOA's General Secretary Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya said the new collective insurance scheme is open only for the members of the GMOA. "During the recent past, we have been discussing with several insurance companies to prepare insurance scheme that suit the needs of the doctors." he added. Dr. J. Niles on behalf of the GMOA and Executive Director of the Insurance Corporation Sarath Cooray sign the MoU. Dr. Padeniya and Insurance Corporation DGM G. Thalagune are also in the picture. |
