by Bharatha Malawaraarachchi Traffic along the main Colombo-Negombo road was cut off at Mabole, Wattala yesterday morning following a collision between a container truck and a passenger bus. The incident took place around 6.00 am as the container truck reached the main road leaving the container yard at Mabole. The passenger bus which came from Negombo had crashed into the front of the container truck, injuring two persons who were in the bus. Wattala Police said the road was blocked for nearly one hour following this incident, but swift measures were taken to clear the scene. The injured were admitted to Ragama Hospital and Police said their condition was normal. As a result of the accident, vehicles coming from Negombo was diverted at Mahabage junction. |
