by Florence Wickramage Phase four of the Silumina Janasetha Programme, the National Jak Development Project will be launched at the Sirimavo Balika Maha Vidyalaya on August 7th at 8.00 in the morning. Students of the Vidyalaya will plant 40 Jak saplings and will be responsible for the maintenance of the trees thereafter. The launch will be followed by a seminar on Jak Development and Popularisation of Jak-related Products and an exhibition. Environment and Natural Resources Ministry's Additional Secretary Sunil Sarath Perera, Director of Education Western Province W.B.N. Saddharatne, Nanda Dias son of Arthur V. Diyes are among invited guests. Attorney-at-Law Nalin Ladduwahetty, Chairman, Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd (ANCL), the Founder of the National Jak Development Project (NJDP) and Director Editorial Bandula Padmakumara, officials of the NJDP, Chairman Sevana Lottery Imitiasz Ismail and officials of the Sevana Lottery, Priyantha Saman Kumara, President of the Green Friends Society and Green Movement's Treasurer Vasantha Wijewardene will attend the ceremony. |
