Colts have it easy

Colts CC 'A' team beat Slimline in the Free and Easy women's open league indoor cricket tournament final worked off at the Austasia Sports Complex in Thalawathugoda yesterday.

Slimline batting first were restricted to 53 from their 16 overs with Rose Fernando hitting a top score of 18 runs. In addition Gayathri Kariyawasam (16) and Hiruka Fernando (15) also made useful contributions for Slimline.

Colts 'A' in reply overtook their opponents total and collected 56 runs from their 16 overs. Randhika Galhenage made a top score of 18 for Colts while S. Ramani captured 3 wickets for minus 1 run.

Hiruka Fernando of Slimline was selected as the best batswoman while the best bowlers award went to Chamani Seneviratne of Slimline SC. In addition Randhika Galhenage of Colts was named player of the final and Gayathri Kariyawasam of Slimline was named player of the series. (C.D)
