Dutch envoy meets Thamilchelvan The Netherlands Ambassador to Sri Lanka Susan Blankhart met the head of the LTTE political section S. P. Thamilchelvan on Thursday, LTTE sources said. The Ambassador was accompanied by her deputy, Petrus Jan Kuperus, a TamilNet report said. The two and a half hour discussion at the LTTE's political headquarters in Kilinochchi was described as "very cordial and constructive," by the sources. The Netherlands officials discussed issues related to the Norwegian peace initiative, the sources said, including matters concerning the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement between the Government and the LTTE. Issues related to the development of the North and East were also discussed at the meeting which began at 10 am. |
