Former PSD Chief questioned

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday recorded a lengthy statement from the former Director of the President's Security Division SP Nihal Karunaratne in connection with the attack on photojournalists at Kollupitiya junction during an opposition demonstration and protest march.

Earlier the CID questioned several PSD personnel in connection with the same offence and released them.

The CID commenced investigations into the attack on journalists on a directive by Interior Minister John Amaratunga.
