The funeral of the General Secretary of the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka (AASL), Rohan Amarasinghe will take place at the General Cemetery, Kanatta tomorrow (2).

The AASL President, Sunil Jayaweera requests all affiliated district athletic association and club officials to assemble near Borella Kanatta at 3 pm tomorrow to pay the last respects to the dedicated official, who has been playing a key role for over a decade.

The 63-year-old veteran sports administrator died of a massive first heart attack on Sunday.

He has been the General Secretary of the local AAA on three occasions with the last time being elected uncontested last month. An UK qualified Energy Engineer by profession, Amarasinghe was the former General Manager of Shell Gas Lanka and later functioned as the Managing Director of Safe Gas Systems (Pvt) Ltd.
