More power switched on

The power cut will be restricted to a maximum of three hours per week from today . It will be imposed every other day excluding Poya days, holidays and weekends, Power and Energy Minister Karu Jayasuriya yesterday told at a press conference held at his Ministry. But he urged the nation to "save electricity since the crisis was not 100 percent solved".

Britain's Secretary for International Development, Clare Short told Sri Lanka's Minister for Economic Reforms, Science and Technology Milinda Moragoda that Britain was willing to help Sri Lanka and would like to work together in identifying areas of co-operation.
