Hilton, one of the world's most recognised hotels has been awarded 'Best Global Hotel Chain' by readers of Global Finance magazine in the first annual Global Finance Awards.

In order to ensure that these awards reflect the real experiences of frequent business travellers, Global Finance conducted two surveys of its 235,000 readers around the world. An e-mail questionnaire sent to a sample of 10,000 readers and a questionnaire in the February 2002 issue of the magazine asked readers to provide details of their travel preferences and to nominate hotel chains and individual hotels for these awards. Each survey respondent was asked to focus on three factors when making their nominations - safety, cleanliness and convenience.

Dirks, Senior Vice President - Brand Management and Marketing for Hilton Hotels Corporation who overseas nearly 250 Hilton full-service hotels and resorts in the US, Canada and Mexico said: "This achievement is testimony to the devotion of our thousands of Hilton team members who take great pride in providing the best guest experience possible at a Hilton Hotel each and every day."
