PS members take oaths

Jagath Palliyaguru of the United National Party took his oaths before Ratnapura district MP Ajith Kumara Meddagama as the chairman of the Atakalanpanna Pradeshiya Sabha at its inaugural meeting held at the MP's, residence in Pallebedda.

13 other UNP members also took their oaths.

Ratnapura district MP Ajith Kumara Meddagama said that the government will appoint local level consultative committees to advise on all aspects of planning and implementation of development projects in the respective areas.

Our Cabinet of Ministers are fully conscious of the wishes of the people who have twice given a clear mandate to the government to take the country in the right direction, said MP Ajith Kumara.

Chairman Jagath Palliyaguru said that what is given to him today is not only a power but also a tedious responsibility which is fulfilled without any discrimination.

Newly elected UNP Vice Chairman Delip Samaraweera took oaths before Ratnapura district MP Ajith Kumara.
