More earthslips feared at Demodara

Badulla District Secretary, W. Premadasa said that eight families living close to landslid area have been evacuated yesterday as it was feared that another portion of earth at Demodara Quarry would slip. They have been lodged at their relatives' houses and provided with dry rations. Full story

India will fully support peace process - Minister Jaswant Singh

Indian Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh said that the current peace process implemented by the UNF Government seeking a political solution to the North East conflicts while safeguarding the territorial integrity of the country will be fully supported by the Indian Government.
