Premier tours South Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe toured Galle and the neighbouring area on Wednesday and Thursday to inspect potentials and problems of the area. He was interested in finding ways of making the area a tourism hub whilst preserving the historical significance of the Galle Fort. In addition, the Prime Minister's attention also was drawn to luxury hotels operating in the area. The Prime Minister paid attention to the possibilities of developing tourism in the Seenimodera and Mawella areas and studied other development plans that are to be implemented in the locality. Mr. Wickremesinghe met the people of surrounding areas of Hummanaya during his inspection tour and inquired about current problems faced by them. It was apparent that lack of good access roads and lack of water were their major grievances. The Premier will take necessary and quick action to remedy the problem. |
