Sharjah Cup winners get US $100,000

A total of US dollars 120,000 will be on offer for the winners of the Sharjah Cup 2002 cricket tournamment which began at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium yesterday.

In addition the runner up will receive US dollars 80,000 and and the third placed team will receive US dollars 50,000. The ARY Gold Cup, Man of the Match will receive US dollars 1000 each during the preliminary round and the Man of the Match in the final will be presented US dollars 1500. The Man of the Series will carry away US dollars 3500.

The Shell Market fastest fifty will be presented US dollars 1000, best bowler US dollars 1000 and the best fielder US dollars 1000. The batsman to score the most number of boundaries during the preliminary round will win US dollars 500 and a further US dollars 1000 in the final.

The Western Union highest scorer in the preliminary round will receive US dollars 500 and US dollars 1000 in the final.

The beneficiaries for this year are Sri Lanka's Arjuna Ranatunga who is also in the commentators panel, Major Tahir Naqqash, Farruk Zaman, Shahid Israr, Anwar Khan and Ashraf Ali all from Pakistan.
