Seminar on Internet, e-Commerce, Intellectual Property The Information and Communication Technologies Sub-Committee of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in association with the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Geneva and the National Intellectual Property Office - Sri Lanka is organising a two-day seminar on "Internet, e-Commerce and Intellectual Property" on April 24 and 25 from 8.45 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Colombo Hilton. It will cover e-Commerce: Its emergence and growth with particular reference to Sri Lanka; The Digital Divide and WIPOs Digital Agenda; Meeting the Challenges and Seizing the Opportunities of the Digital age; Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Digital Environment: The WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) and the WIPO Performances and Phonogram Treaty (WPPT); Issues concerning the Protection of Real-World Identifiers: Trademarks, Branding, Names of International Organisations, Geographical Identifiers, Personal Names, Navigation; Modernisation of the National Legislative Framework to Enhance the Protection of Intellectual Property in the Age of the Internet; The Protection of Marks and other Industrial Property Rights in Signs on the Internet: WIPO recommendation; Domain Names System - Sri Lanka's perspective and Domain Names Resolving disputes - the WIPO Processes.
