Lasantha (108) shine for ACL cables

Wicket-keeper opening batsman Lasantha Samarasinghe set the MCA grounds alight with a blistering 108 runs, inclusive of 08 fours and 08 towering sixes to anchor ACL Cables to a 34-runs win over Tri-Star Apparel "B" - in the Bajaj/Caliber MCA "E" division 40-overs league tournament, continued for the 05th week-end.

Samarasinghe, with previous scores of 61 vs Malibans and 70 vs Ansell Lanka, became the 04th centurion of the tournament.

Eagle Insurance flew all over the place, conceding 24-wides & lost to Regnis Lanka by 28-runs. Thorn Group and Lanka Bell scored run-away wins over Hayleys and Lake House. For Lanka Bell, this was their 3rd straight win. Informatics, too registered their third successive win, beating CW Mackie. Merchant Credit, made amends to their last defeat, scoring a convincing 08-wkts win over Ansell Lanka.

Notable performances came from Thorn Groups, Scan Mackey 80 vs Hayleys and Lanka Bell's, R. Fernando 5 for 13 vs Lake House.
