Lankan women win first indoor Test Sri Lankan women proved themselves that they are fit to be Women's World Champs when they beat the Indian women's team by a huge 339 runs in the first Indoor Cricket Test match played yesterday at the Austasia International Indoor Cricket Stadium in Thalawatugoda. Sri Lanka batting first after winning the toss scored 199 runs losing one wicket in 16 overs. The first pair Hiruka and Rose added 51 runs in the first 4 overs only losing one wicket. Then the second pair, Thilaka and Sandamali brought up the score to 108 adding 57 runs. Hiroshi and Thanuja came in as the third pair and took the score further to 152 by adding 44 runs. The last pair, the captain of the Sri Lankan side Venessa and Chamani adding 47 runs saw the scoreboard stopping at 199 runs when their allotted 16 overs came to an end. The Indians, chasing a big score of 199 ended up scoring minus 140 and losing 4 wickets in their allotted 16 overs. The top scorer for India was Madhuri with 2 runs while the other players failed to pass the minus scores.
