The Department of Immigration and Emigration has opened a website providing all information required and procedures to be followed in obtaining passports, visas as well as citizenship.

The website address is immigration.gov.lk

According to N. Bambarawanage, Controller of Immigration and Emigration, all information including fees for issue of passports, visas and how to apply are provided on the web. The passport application forms are also included. These forms could be downloaded and duly filled applications could be forwarded. This would save the trouble of applicants going to the Department to obtain application forms, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.
