Arjuna steers P & A to victory

Arjuna Ranatunge figured prominently last weekend when he single handedly steered P & A Insurance Brokers to a 04 wickets win over Eagle Insurance in the Bajaj/Caliber MCA "E" Division 40 over League Tournament.

Arjuna, bagged 4 for 29 in 8 overs and went on to make an unbeaten 81 in their first outing this tournament. Thorn Group's C. Bandaratillake, too came into the limelight smacking an unbeaten 118 against C.W. Mackie to become the 3rd centurian of the tournament. Sponsors, David Peiris Motor Co. - registered their second successive win, but after a few 'stops & starts', over Soft Logic Information Systems, by 02 wickets, thanks to an allround performance by Piyal Salgado (4 for 16 & 30 runs). P & A Insurance Brokers, playing back to back, scored their second win, Sanjeeva Ranatunge taking the cue from his elder brother, making a polished 69-runs helping them to beat Mackwoods by 04 wickets.
