Malaysia Airlines cargo division, MASkargo, is now offering its customers, online shipment tracking and a flight schedule information system accessible through its domain names www.maskargo.com.my and www.maskargo.com.

Using the shipment tracking facility, MASkargo customers around the world can track their cargo shipments by merely keying in the applicable airwaybill number in the designated column of the above websites. Customers will then be able to view real time information on various aspects of a particular shipment like when its booking was made, received at the warehouse, manifested, flight departure and delivery to consignee at the destination.

The on-line flight schedule information system enables customers to check schedules of all Malaysia Airlines flights and MASkargo's freighter service. Based on the type of request, responses will be displayed according to freighter or truck flights. Customers can get up-to-date information on the latest flight schedule thus enhancing their route planning process in moving cargo within their distribution network.

With the introduction of this service enhancement, MASkargo customers can avail a relatively economical and fast access from any part of the world to plan and monitor the movement of their cargo, thus reducing reliance on the conventional telephone and facsimile communication.

MASkargo has embarked on a series of e-commerce programs in its quest to provide high level customer service through electronic linkage of its operations to several global cargo community systems. Through these initiatives, MASkargo has automated several of its business processes for freight forwarders, like space bookings, issuance of Neutral Airway bill numbers and Airway bill documents submission for cargo acceptance. However, this facility is to be introduced to the Sri Lankan freight forwarders in the near future.

MASkargo is now working towards the implementation of electronic invoicing and payment after successfully introducing the on-line shipment tracking and flight schedule information system.
