by Gampaha group correspondent Steps will be taken to set up a separate Bank for teachers on pension, said Dr. Jayalath Jayawardene Minister of Rehabilitation Resettlement and Refugees. He was speaking at the meeting of Underpaid 'Pension Teachers Association held at Siddartha Maha Vidyalaya, Gampaha. He said that the government understood that there are anomalies in the payment of pensions and steps will be taken to correct them. He added that there should be separate bank for teachers as in some countries. All teachers could be shareholders by paying Rs. 100. He said he is organising a Health Camp for teachers at Gampaha. Peace is a necessity for the program of the country and we are proceeding steadily for a prosperous era. Several others also spoke.
