JVP leadership meet President JVP Leadership comprising General Secretary Tylvin Silva, Propaganda Secretary and Parliamentary Group Leader Wimal Weerawansa and Politburo Member MP Anura Dissanayake met President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga in the morning of March 4, at President's House to discuss the current political atmosphere in the country. The two parties considered at length the impact of the Ceasefire Agreement and its probable adverse effects on the National Security, Sovereignty, Independence and Unitary status of the country. They agreed to oppose conditions that are detrimental to the nation and to make people democratically aware of such conditions and array them accordingly. They also agreed to meet again soon. |
