by Sarath Malalasekera The Criminal Investigation Department yesterday directed Mahen Ratwatte, the third son of former Deputy Defence Minister Gen. Anuruddha Ratwatte, to appear before the CID today, March 7, at 10 a.m. in order to question him for harbouring two of his borthers Lohan and Chanuka. The CID investigators said that they are looking for four more suspects who were alleged to have given shelter for Lohan and Chanuka Ratwatte, the two suspects who were wanted in connection with the Udathalawinna killing in Kandy on the day of the last general elections. In connection with the killing of ten youth at Udathalawinna CID took into custody thirty-two suspects including former Deputy Defence Minister Ratwatte and his two sons Lohan and Chanuka. They were remanded by the Teldeniya Magistrate Ms. P.Inoka Ranasinghe till March 18. |
