Anurudhha Ratwatte's two sons and main suspects of the Udatalawinna murder case will be produced for an identification parade at the Teldeniya Magistrate's Courts today. The two Ratwatte brothers who evaded arrest for 40 days, finally surrendered to the CID through their lawyers. They were remanded by the Teldeniya Magistrate Miss Preethi Inoka Ranasinghe when they were produced before her on February 24. The four accomplices who were travelling with the murdered 10 youth during the incident and escaped death will be witnesses at his identification parade. One witness who was critically injured in the massacre was unable to be present at the previous identification parade on February 18. At that parade, five suspects among the six were identified by other three witnesses. Other suspects presently in remand in connection with this murder will be produced at the identification parade today. Former Minister Gen. Ratwatte was also remanded in this connection when he was produced before the Teldeniya Magistrate on February 20. State Counsel Achala Wengappuli assisted by SSP Sisira Mendis and IP R. Linton of the CID will prosecute. Attorney-at-law Ashley Herath will appear for the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth suspects. |
