'UNP will achieve record victory'

Minister of Co-operatives A. R. M. Abdul Cader stated at Gampola that the aim of the new government is to extinguish the flames of ethnic conflicts and develop the country thereby making the people prosperous and happy.

The Minister expressed the above views addressing a seminar conducted for representatives of UNP organising committees to make them aware of forthcoming local government elections.

"At the forthcoming local government elections the UNP will achieve a record victory. We must endorse and establish such victory with peace. Political violence should be completely eradicated," said the Minister.

Several others also spoke at this occasion.
