by L. B. Wijayasiri in Kandy Speaker of the Parliament Joseph Micheal Perera, visited Dalada Maligawa in Kandy on Saturday 12th and paid homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic. Accompanied by his wife, Speaker Joseph Micheal Perera was received on his arrival at Maligawa by Diyawadana Nilame Neranjan Wijeyeratne with the handing over of a tray of Jasmine flowers. He was then conducted to the inner shrine where he revered the Relic. Thereafter, the Speaker called on the Most Ven. Ambanwelle Sri Pannasekara Anunayaka Thera of the Malwatte Mahavihara Chapter and the Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakhitha Mahanayaka Thera of the Asgiriya Maha Vihara Chapter and received their blessings. He also called on Rt. Rev. Viyanny Fernando the Bishop of Kandy at the Bishop's House, Kandy and participated in a special mass at the St. Anthony's Cathedral. |
