The students of Isipathana Vidyalaya Colombo, recently donated medicine and other essential items worth over rupees two hundred thousand to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital on the eve of the college's prefects day. The college prefects day was recently celebrated at the main Hall with the participation of the Principal Upali Gunasekara. The parents teachers, well wishers including the students made generous donations towards this noble task. Apart from the donation made to the hospital the students also distributed clothes and other needs to over 850 in-patients of the Hospitals. The students accompanied by the Principal and teachers visited the Hospital and personally handed them to these patients. Ven. Navala Chandavimale thera chanted sethpirith invoking blessings on both the patients and the students who made these valuable donations. Deputy Director of the Hospital Dr (Mrs.) Paranagama appreciating the kind gesture of the students said that Isipathana Vidyalaya students have set an example to the rest of the students and parents by participating in this noble task. |
