President returns

President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga returned to Sri Lanka yesterday after participating in the 11th SAARC Summit in Kathmandu, Nepal.

President Kumaratunga was accorded a Guard of Honour at the airport by the Nepali Military. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba was present.

The President held bilateral discussions with Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf and Bangladeshi President Begum Khaleda Zia.

She has briefed them on the ethnic conflict and the peace process in Sri Lanka.
