SLMC leader calls for peace

SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem yesterday appealed to all Muslims to maintain peace and brotherhood, especially during the holy month of Ramadhan.

In a statement issued yesterday he said that he has received reliable information that some trouble-makers are planning to create communal disharmony among the Muslims and Sinhalese, throughout the country, especially in Kandy District.

The SLMC leader accused politicians for engineering the clashes.

The people are well aware of those politicians who were responsible for these killings. The new Government led by Ranil Wickremesinghe will bring to book all those who were responsible, he added.
