One killed, 12 injured in accident

One person was killed and 12 others injured when a vehicle turned turtle at Till Adiya in Puttalam during curfew hours yesterday. B. Dasappa (28) was killed in the accident and one person among the injured is critical said Puttalam police.

The accident occurred when a convoy of vehicles carrying UNP Wanni district candidate B. A. Risad travelling towards Sapa Maruwa refugee camp.A vehicle in the convoy turned turtle. Puttalam police are investigating.

GCE O\L postponed

The GCE Ordinary level examination has been indefinitely postponed due to security concerns. The new date will be notified later, the Commissioner General of Examinations R. B. Amarakoon said.
