UNF Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe in a statement issued yesterday, appealed to all party supporters to refrain from holding processions to celebrate the party's victory at the just concluded Parliamentary polls. Mr. Wickremesinghe, while expressing his appreciation to the party's activists, has also said that he has intimated all the regional leaders of the party and electoral organisers of the need to maintain peace countrywide. Mr. Wickremesinghe has also said in his statement that the Party will announce "A Day of Brotherhood" when the Government is sworn in, where party supporters will mingle with their opponents where they eat Kiribath, Kevun as a part of a political culture that he envisages ushering in. |
