Subba Row praises Galle Test venue International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee for the on-going Test series between Sri Lanka and West Indies, Raman Subba Row paid a handsome tribute to the Galle International Stadium and its staff. In a letter addressed to the stadium's chief executive officer Jayananda Warnaweera, Subba Row says: "I must congratulate you and your excellent staff for all the hard work you have undertaken by day and by night during the Test match here against the West Indies. "The ground and pitch covering has been of the highest order in difficult conditions and your team of helpers have been very dedicated. "The pitch itself has been splendid as is evidenced by the large number of runs scored perhaps a little more pace would have helped, but that is no criticism. Very well done thanks to all". A copy of the letter has been forwarded to the BCCSL chief executive Anura Tennekoon. A total of 1188 runs were scored in the five days of the Test which Sri Lanka won by ten wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series. |
