The people of Ruhuna will never allow to divide the country - Ronnie de Mel

by Kamburupitiya Group Corrospondent

Ronnie De Mel, Minister of Industries and Commerce speaking at a meeting held at Kirulapone in Deniyaya following the opening of a PA election office, said;

"The people of Ruhuna are well known throughout the history for their determination to protect the unity of the country when the country is faced with the threat of enimies.

"Although the Tamil political organisations including the LTTE are hand in hand with the UNP which is treacherously trying to split the country into two, the people of Ruhuna will never keep room for it and at the forthcoming elections they will give a massive victory for the PA".

He said when the PA comes into power once again it would pay special attention to develop under developed electorates in the Matara district like Kamburupitiya, Hakmana and Deniyaya.

A free trade zone like the one at Koggala would also be set up in the Matara District giving opportunity of employment for 25,000 youth.

De Mel said that he was responsible in implementing number of large development schemes for the Ruhuna University, the Karapitiya Teaching hospital and also many electrification schemes, roads and water supply schemes.
