The residence of Jayawardena Walgampaya of Siyambalagoda Danture, a supporter of Kandy District PA candidate Tikiri Kobbekaduwa was attacked with hand grenades on Sunday night, a press release from the Elections Campaign and Media Coordinating Unit said yesterday.

Sources said that the attackers had come in the vehicles of a UNP candidate and a Central Provincial Councillor.

Meanwhile, the Samurdhi Development Officer of Kirindiwela was attacked by UNP supporters last Friday when he objected to UNP posters being pasted on his door, the release said.
