Kesaralal refutes By Ananda Kannangara Colombo District PA candidate Kesaralal Gunasekara addressing an election rally at Mt. Lavinia last week refuted statements by the UNP that country's economy is in dolldrum. " All false statements by the country's main Opposition regarding the economy, can easily be debunked if one took into consideration supermarkets and higher lifestyles and the growth of large scale business enterprises which have mushroomed countrywide during the past seven years", Gunasekara said. " Some politicians say our economy has collapsed. But I categorically refute those false statements. Those rumour mongers are only seeking cheap publicity, but the masses know the truth". Gunasekara added. " See the number of business enterprises established in areas such as Mt.Lavinia during the past several years. If there is a financial crisis in the country can such enterprises survive ? " Gunasekera also said that he would take steps to utilise resources available in the area to improve the living standard of the people living in the area. |
