Bonanza for 'difficult' area teachers

The Education and Higher Education Ministry will make arrangements to construct housing complexes for teachers serving in 'difficult' areas, under a special incentive program to be brought in shortly.

The Ministry expects that this will be an encouragement for those who are reluctant to work in schools in difficult areas due to lack of basic facilities.

The teachers already enjoy priority in receiving housing loans, overseas scholarships, training and receiving quarters. In addition early this month the Cabinet approved a special increment procedure for these teachers. The teachers in all the difficult areas will receive a double increment every year.
