The newly formed Old Peterites Rugby Club created Peterite rugby history, when in their first year of existence, made a very promising start away from home, where they stormed their way through to meet the Bombay Gymkhana Rugby Club, in the final of the All India Rugby tournament today.

In the lead up to the final the Old Peterites Rugby Club led by Dilan Abeygoonewardena beat Orissa 72-5, Calcutta 21-10 and Delhi 44-3.

The referee in today's final (Saturday) will be Sri Lankan Dilroy Fernando.
