Peterites run away with schools sevens title

by S. M. Jiffrey Abdeen, Kandy sports corr.

St. Peter's College, Bambalapitiya with a superlative performance beat Vidyartha College by 22 points (2 goals, 1 try, 1 drop goal) to 5 (1 try) to become Cup Champions of the Schools tournament of the Singer SriLankan Airlines Sevens organised by the Kandy Sports Club and played at the Bogambara Stadium yesterday.

At half-time St. Peter's led 7-0.

The match was played under wet conditions as there was a drizzle throughout the match and the Peterites revelled under these conditions. Vidyartha who earlier beat Trinity in the semi-final could not come up with the same fiery play.
