Seylan Merchant Bank Limited (SMB) has tied up with EZPortals.com (Pvt) Ltd, a leading Sri Lankan web portal company, in offering online loan applications. It was the first time that a financial institution is offering access to its loan products on the Internet in Sri Lanka, a company spokesman said.

SMB online loan applications on www.ezbiz.lk will substantially enhance the convenience of customers. The banner ads will also serve as an attractive introduction to SMB products, he said.

SBM, a subsidiary of Seylan Bank Limited and a member of Ceylinco Consolidated, is a leading Sri Lankan merchant bank with a comprehensive portfolio of products aimed at meeting a diversity of financial needs. SMB has launched a major promotional campaign entitled Fortune 2001 in order to popularise the products offered by the bank. According to a company spokesperson, EZPortals.com (Pvt) Ltd plans to launch targeted business portals throughout Asia later this year.
