SC approves Watawala recommendation:

Shiram depositors to get Rs 201 m

The Supreme Court on Thursday approved the repayment modality submitted by the Watawala Committee appointed to work out a repayment scheme for Ceylinco Shiram depositors.

The Bench comprised Justice Shirani Thilakawardana, Justice Priyasath Dep and Justice Rohini Marasinghe.

Rs 201,590,560 is to be divided among 6,500 depositors who lost their deposits with the collapse of Shiram, a member of Ceylinco Group.
