The best of Cambrians - 23 of Prince of Wales College's finest
students with talents in singing and dancing will be battling for pride
and prestige on March 17 at the Grand Finale of Cambrians Got Talent
Season 1 in support of the school's indoor sport complex development
project.
The talent show, organized by Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa, will
be held at Kularatna Hall, Ananda College, Colombo 10 from 3 pm to 8pm
with the Education Services Minister Duminda Dissanayaka as Chief Guest.
The Principal of Prince of Wales College Sampath Weragoda said, the
selection rounds of Cambrians Got Talent were held from October last
year. The school invited veteran musicians in the country to conduct the
selection rounds.
Principal Weragoda also added that they held a number of singing and
dancing workshops at school for students participating in the contest
which provided the students with necessary training in their particular
areas.
Cambrians Got Talent is envisioned to identify and promote those
talented students in the school. The proceeds of the event will be
utilized in constructing an indoor sports complex for the school.
There were 80 contestants at the beginning of the selection process
in three categories, namely Grade 1 to 5, Grade 6 to 9 and Grade 10 to
13 categories.
Out of them 23 students have been selected for the Grand Finale will
showcase their talents and skills on Sunday, the organizers said. |
